CPR Poster Art

Passengers sitting in the waiting room at old CPR stations could dream about  exotic Canadian locations that they could go to instead of 50 miles up the line . Look at these from collectionscanada.gc.ca .

These Posters were designed to attract the Japanese tourists to consider Canada as a holiday destination. ( japanistan.com)

Lake Louise posters were some of the most beautiful . It was a favorite destination and a poster in each generation was produced to tempt Canadians to follow the rails and see their own country .

In later years , poster size photographs of famous scenes along the Canadian Pacific Railway appeared on the walls of waiting rooms .

" A picture is worth a thousand words" ...and could occupy you for a long time on a trip into fantasy .
